Three new programs of study to support the Outaouais

Good news!

Three new programs will come into being at the Cegep de l’Outaouais: Radiodiagnostic technology, Social work techniques, and Recreation management and intervention techniques.

Offered starting January 2023!

In close collaboration with the Cégep de l’Outaouais, a plan was developed for expediting the introduction of the Radiodiagnostic Technology program and will take in the first cohort in January 2023, including by adjusting the course schedule to make it all possible.

“The firming up of these three college programs is excellent news for the CISSS of Outaouais. Human resources issues are pressing right now, and the CISSS of Outaouais is no exception. In addition, the opening of the Centre hospitalier affilié universitaire de l’Outaouais will result in a significant increase in staffing needs for our organization.

These new programs announced will make it possible to train future radiodiagnostic technologists, social workers, and recreational workers right here in the Outaouais region. These new graduates will be a large pool of qualified workers, and this will certainly allow us to serve the population better in the coming years, create labour retention in the Outaouais, and reduce the outflow of personnel to Ontario.

I would also like to highlight Cégep de l’Outaouais’s tremendous collaboration with the Université du Québec en Outaouais, which contributes to our region’s development through its health and social services training programs.” Said Ms. Josée Filion, President and CEO

The next generation of health and social service workers trained here!
